abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain a vulcanized rubber useful as sealing and caulking materials, having improved performance, by curing a modified liquid polyisoprene, which is a maleic anhydride adduct of a liquid polyisoprene, with a crosslinking agent. n CONSTITUTION: A modified liquid polyisoprene, which is prepared by addition of 0.05W10 mol% based on the isoprene monomer unit of maleic anhydride and/or its derivative to a liquid polyisoprene having a molecular weight of 8,000W77,000, is cured by a crosslinking agent. The unmodified liquid polyisoprene is obtained by anionic, radical, or coordination anionic polymerization. A liquid polyisoprene with a high cis-1,4 content, a narrow molecular weight distribution and free from gel, which is obtained by anionic polymerization using a lithium catalyst, is most preferably used. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1979,JPO&Japio |
