abstract PURPOSE: The title composition suitable for treating fibers, asbestos, etc., having improved heat and solvent resistance, obtained by blending a resol type phenolic resin emulsion with an acrylic resin emulsion. n CONSTITUTION: A) 100 parts by wt. of a 1W70 wt.% emulsion of an acrylic resin having a secondary-order transition point of -40W40°C, obtained by radical copolymerization of a) 0.1W15 wt.% of one or more ethylenic unsaturated monomers containing one or more functional groups selected from the group consisting of carboxyl, hydroxyl, amido, and amino-glycidyl groups and b) 85W99.5 wt.% of an acrylate and/or (meth)acrylate or its mixture with other ethylenic unsaturated monomer in an aqueous medium is blended with B) 1W100 parts by wt.% a stabilized resol-type phenolic resin emulsion having an average particle size of 0.3W 30μ and resin concentration of 1W60 wt.%. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1979,JPO&Japio
