PURPOSE:To provide the title composition of good platability even through high chrome etching-catalyst process, comprising a rubber, an unsaturated carboxylic acid, a radical generator, and a polyolefin incorporated with an inorganic filler and ABS resin. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition can be prepared by compounding (1) 100 parts by wt. of a mixture comprising (a) 20-80 wt. % of a polyolefinic resin (b) 10-60 wt. % of an inorganic filler (e.g. alumina, etc. ) of a particle size, pref <= 10mu, and (c) 5-40 wt. % of ABS resin with (2) 1-20 parts by wt. of a rubber (e.g. isoprene rubber, etc.) 0.1-10 parts by wt. of an unsaturated carboxylic acid (pref. maleic acid, etc.), and an appropriate amount of a radical generator (pref. benzoyl peroxide, etc.) The resulting composition is kneaded at 110-280 deg.C to form into pellets. The molded product therefrom can be made into plated articles with well-adherent metal skin and good appearance, through e.g. an automatic plating process for ABS resin.
