titleOfInvention Preparation of modified polyester
abstract PURPOSE: To prepare a modified polyester dyeable with basic dyes, by copolymerizing an alkali metal salt of bis(methoxycarbonyl)-benzenesulfonic acid and adding a vicinal dicarboxylic acid (anhydride), etc. prior to the completion of the polymerization. n CONSTITUTION: Dicarboxylic acids consisting mainly of terephthalic acid, glycols consisting mainly of ethylene glycol, and lithium 3, 5-bis(methoxycarbonyl)benzenesulfonate, etc., (0.5W3.5 mole % on the basis of the acid component) are copolymerized by direct polymerization process. A vicinal dicarboxylic acid, e.g. phthalic acid, etc., its anhydride or its ester derivative (preferably 0.3W3 mole % on the basis of the above acid component) is added to the reaction mixture prior to the completion of the polymerization, and the polymerization is completed. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1979,JPO&Japio
