titleOfInvention Preparation of polymer emulsion
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a polymer emulsion usable as coating compounds, adhesives, coating materials on wall surfaces, by incorporating a polymer sludge with an organic solvent having a low water-solubility and a surfactant. n CONSTITUTION: A polymer sludge is incorporated with an organic solvent which has a low water-solubility and a surfactant. The sludge is obtained by separating and recovering a fine particulate material, formed as a by-product in preparing a polymer by the suspension or emulsion polymerization, according to the flotation or sedimentation method, etc. Benzene, toluene, pentane, cyclohexane, etc. may be cited as the organic solvent. Sodium stearate, sodium naphthalenesulfonate, cetyltriethylammonium chloride, etc. may be cited as the surfactant. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1979,JPO&Japio
