titleOfInvention Mixing of thermoplastic resin pellets and powdery filler
abstract PURPOSE: To improve the mixing and feeding of a mixture of a resin (esp. polypropylene) and a filler in an extruder or an injection molding machine, by melting the surface of the resin in the mixture and forming the mixture to disk-shape pellets. n CONSTITUTION: A mixture of 100 parts by weight of thermoplastic resin pellets and 2W100 parts by weight of a powdery filler, is softened by a hot blender to melt the surface of the resin pellet and deform the pellet to a disk. The thermoplastic resin is, e.g. polypropylene, polyethylene, polystyrene, AS resin, etc., and the filler is, e.g. talc, calcium carbonate, carbon black, wood flour, etc. The dimensions of the pellet are 1W5 mm in diameter and 2W5 mm in length, and those of the disk are 3W8 mm in diameter and ≤ 2 mm in thickness. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1979,JPO&Japio
