| abstract | PURPOSE: To provide a strong herbicide applicable to weeds of wide growing stages, and effective to weeds of growing period without damaging Japanese cypress by applying to the stalks and leaves of the weeds, containing an antibiotic SF-1293 substance as an effective component. n CONSTITUTION: A herbicide containing free acid of antibiotic SF-1293 substance, its salt, pref. dimethylamine salt, choline salt, etc. as an effective component. When the heights of the weeds are less than 10 cm, it is diluted to 0.01W0.05% solution, and when the heights are between 10 and 30 cm, diluted to 0.05W0.2%, and 100 l of the solution is sprayed to 10 ares of the forest. The herbicide is effective to almost all sort of plants, and useful for the preparation of afforestation, and the weeding of cypress plantation, orchard, and pasture. It is also suitable for the pre-seeding treatment of non-plowing cultivation of crop field, because of its relatively rapid inactivation in soil.
