abstract PURPOSE: To provide an amino acid preparation for oral administration free from chlorine ion, and agreeably and safely administrable to patients of renal diseases without causing acidosis, wherein at least a part of the basic amino acids are converted to malic acid salt. n CONSTITUTION: An amino acid preparation containing lysine as a basic amino acid and free from chlorine ion, wherein the lysine is converted to lysince malate. The preparation may contain arginine (in the form of malate or free base), and histidine and/or ornithine (in the form of malate). The malate may be acidic or neutral salt.
