titleOfInvention 5-fluorouracil and antitumorigenic agent containing the same as major effective component.
abstract NEW MATERIAL:5-Fluorouracils of formula I (R is l-6C alkyl). n EXAMPLE: N 1 -ethoxycarbonyl-5-fluorouracil. n USE: Antitumorigenic agent: it has extremely much lower toxicity than 5-FU and FT-207 and larger factor of safety. n PREPARATION: Equimolar amounts of 5-fluorouracil and a lower alkoxycarbonyl chloride of formula III (X is halogen) are reacted at room temperature -50°C to form a compound of formula I. The 5-fluorouracil is converted to its metal salt when used for the reaction and the solvent used is preferably dimethylformamide, or dimethylacetamide n COPYRIGHT: (C)1979,JPO&Japio
