titleOfInvention | Prduction of aqueous solution of calcium nitrite |
abstract | PURPOSE: To efficiently produce a high purity, high concn. aq. soln. of calcium nitrite by bringing a gas contg. low concn, nitrogen oxides into contact with a low concn. slurry of slaked lime contg. calcium nitrite to allow the gas to be absorbed. n CONSTITUTION: A gas contg. 5W10vol% of nitrogen oxides in the molar ratio of NO/NO 2 =1.2W1.5 is brought into contact with a 20W40% slurry of slaked lime at 40W70°C to allow the gas to be absorbed until the concn. of residual slaked lime becomes 5W10wt%. The unabsorbed residual nitrogen oxides-contg. gas is then taken out and NO in the gas is oxidized to regulate the molar ratio of NO/NO 2 to 1.2W1.5 and the concn. of nitrogen oxides to 1W3vol%. The regulated gas is brought into contact with the above slurry to allow the gas to be absorbed at 40W70°C until the concn. of residual calcium hydroxide becomes less than 3wt%. The resulting high concn. aq. soln. of calcium nitrite is filtered to remove a little slaked lime and insol. impurities in the raw material. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1979,JPO&Japio |
