abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a composition containing a water-insoluble solid fine particulate material stably dispersed, by adding an ampholytic high polymer to a specific shampoo composition. CONSTITUTION:C) 0.05wt% or more, preferably 0.1wt% or more of an ampholytic high polymer of formula III: (R8, R10, and R11 are -H or -CH3; R9, R13, and R14 are 1-18C alkyl groups; R12 is 1-4C alkylene group; A is -O- or -NH-; y and Z are 0-10<5>; x is 10<2>-10<5>) is added to a shampoo composition comprising (A) a cationic cellulose ether expressed by formulaI:[R1, R2, and R3 are H or formula II (R4, R5, and R6 are H or CH3; R7 is CH3, C2H5, or C3H7; x is halogen; m, n, and q are and (B) a water-insoluble solid fine particulate material, e.g., zinc pyrithione, etc. to give a shampoo composition in which the water-insoluble solid fine particulate material is stably dispersed. Preferably, 5wt% or more of an anionic surfactant, e.g. polyoxyethylene (P=3) lauryl ether sulfate magnesium, is added to the shampoo composition.
