titleOfInvention Preparation of ethylene polymer
abstract PURPOSE: To prepare an ethylene polymer having a broad molecular weight distribution by using a specific catalyst system prepared by reacting two specific transition metal compounds with the solid reaction product of a trivalent metal halide and a divalent metal hydroxide, etc.. n CONSTITUTION: (A) A solid product obtained by reacting (a) a trivalent metal halide with (b) a divalent metal oxide, hydroxide, carbonate, their double salt or the hydrate of a divalent metal compound preferably to attain complete consumption of the trivalent metal, is reacted with (B) two group IV a or Va transition metal compounds, e.g. titanium tetrachloride and tetrabutoxytitanium, titanium tetrachloride and vanadium oxytrichloride. A catalyst comprising the solid product and (C) an organoaluminum compound is used to prepare an ethylene polymer. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1979,JPO&Japio
