titleOfInvention Preparation of polyester elastomer
abstract PURPOSE: To prepare a polyester elastomer having improved flowability, heat resistance and rubber elasticity, and transparency when melted, free from phase separation, by reacting terephthalic acid with 1,4-butanediol and a poly(tetramethylene oxide) glycol, etc.. n CONSTITUTION: (A) An aromatic dicarboxylic acid component having a molecular weight ≤ 300, consisting mainly of terephthalic acid, is reacted with (B) an aliphatic diol component having a molecular weight ≤ 250, consisting mainly of 1,4- butanediol, and (C) a poly (tetramethylene oxide) glycol having a number-average molecular weight of 1,500W2,500 and a molecular weight distribution dispersion value a=Mv/Mn<1.70 [Mn is number average molecular weight; Mv is expressed by the formula (μ is a melt viscosity in poises at 40°C], wherein the amount of (C) is controlled to attain 5W50 wt.% of the content in the resultant polymer, to obtain a polyester elastomer. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1979,JPO&Japio
