titleOfInvention Fusion treatment of fluoropolymer
abstract PURPOSE: To bond a film of a fluoropolymer having sulfonyl, carboxyl, or sulfonamide group in the side chains to its damage part in fusion without surface preparation, by heating the fluropolymer in the presence of an aqueous medium. n CONSTITUTION: A fluoropolymer having one or more functional groups seclected from the group consisting of sulfonic acid, carboxylic acid, or sulfonamide, and their salts is heated in the presence of an aqueous medium so that the decomposition of the fluoropolymer is prevented and its flow properties can be improved. Fluorinated ethylene which will form a main chain and a vinyl fluoride compound having a functional group in the side chain are polymerized in the presence of a catalyst in water or in an organic solvent to give the fluoropolymer. A copophymer of CF 2 = CF 2 and a compound shown by the formula (n is 1 or 3) may be cited as the fluoropolymer. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1979,JPO&Japio
