abstract PURPOSE: A polyurethane coating composition that is prepared by adding a specific carboxylic acid to a composition of an aliphatic or alicyclic polyisocyanate and a polyhydroxy compound, thus shortening the drying time but prolonging the pot life, further being good in operability. n CONSTITUTION: Said composition comprises (A) an aliphatic or alicyclic polyisocyanate as 1,4-tetramethylene diisocyanate, 2,6-diisocyanate caproate, (B) a polyhydroxy compound as acrylic polyol or polyester polyol and (C) an aromatic carboxylic acid of formula I (X is H, sulfo group, 1W4C alkyl, alkoxy; n is 0W4) or formula II (R is H, 1W4C alkyl) as 3-phenylpropioic acid, monomethyl phthalate, wherein the ratio of A to B is 0.8W1.5 calculated as isocyanate group/hydroxyl group and the amount of component C is 0.1W5 wt% based on the total amount of components A and B. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1979,JPO&Japio
