titleOfInvention Preparation of aminocarbostyril derivative
abstract PURPOSE: A hydroxycarbostyril derivative is coupled with the diazonium salt of arylamine and followed by reduction, thus preparing title compound useful as an intermediate for β-blocker in high yield. n CONSTITUTION: The coupling reaction between a diazonium salt of arylamine and a hydroxycarbostyril derivative of formula I (either one of R 1 and R 2 is OH and the other is H; the carbon-carbon linkage between 3 and 4 positions is single or double bond) is effected and the product, diazocarbosytril derivative of formula II [either of R 3 or R 4 is OH and the other is -N=N-R 5 (R 5 is aryl)], is reduced to prepare amincarbostyril derivative of formula III (either one of R 6 and R 7 is OH and the other is amino) and its salt. The compound of formula III can be led to the compound of formula IV, a β-blocker. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1979,JPO&Japio
