titleOfInvention | Electrochromic composition and disperse type electrochromic display element |
abstract | PURPOSE: An electrochromic(EC) composition capable of being tinted easily and in good state, comprising a solvent, a reductive EC compound having a high solubility in the solvent used in a reduced and oxidized state, and an alkali. n CONSTITUTION: An electrochromic(EC) composition comprises a solvent, e.g., water, a reductive EC compound having a solubility of 10 -2 /100 g of solvent (in the reduced state) and a solubility of 10 -1 mole/100 g of solvent (in the oxidized state) at ordinary temperature, and an alkali. The EC compound is contained in the EC composition in a proportion of 0.1 to 10 wt%, particularly 1 to 5 wt%. The EC compound is r,r'-dimethylbipyridinium dibromide, for example, and also the alkali is NaOH for example. The EC compound is preferably added 40 to 60 wt% a fine masking agent powder, e.g., titanium oxide, etc., and the EC composition is enclosed in a device having a structure in which electrodes are provided on the same plane of the front or rear support plate to obtain a disperse type EC display element. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1979,JPO&Japio |
