abstract PURPOSE: To obtain high maximum density despite long-term storage before exposure and reduce the occurrence of fog by using a specfic fogging agent to the silver halide photosensitive material for forming direct positive images. n CONSTITUTION: The fogging agent of formula I or II [A 1 , A 2 are aryl; R 1 , R 5 are alkyl, aryl, phenoxy, alkoxy carbonyl; R 2 is H, -COR 6 (R 6 is the synonym of R 1 ); R 3 is H, alkyl, aryl, aromatic heterocyclic groups, cycloalkyl; R 4 is aryl, aromatic heterocyclic groups] is contained in the photosensitive material having one or more silver halide emulsion layers containing internal latent image type silver halide particles. This fogging agent is superior in shelf life, particlarly the shelf life against heat and humidity, poses no problem even if added in the photosensitive material, permits addition of effective amount and is able to provide effective fogging effect. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1979,JPO&Japio
