titleOfInvention | Production of liquid mixture separating membraneous product |
abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain a liquid mixt. separating membrane holding well-balanced permeability over a long term by holding a soln. of a saponified α-olefin-vinyl acetate copolymer under specific conditions; heat peptizing the soln,; and forming the peptized soln. into a membrane in a non-solvent as a solidifying bath. n CONSTITUTION: A saponified α-olefin-vinyl acetate copolymer with a 2W30C α- olefin content of 0.5W60mol% of an ethylene content of 60W90mol% and a saponification degree of vinyl acetate above 80mol%, is dissolved in an alcoholic solvent in the former case and in a (halogenated) hydrocarbon solvent in the latter case to prepare a dope. This dope is held at -5W60°C for 1 hrW15 days to allow microphase separation to take place. The dope is then heat peptized and solidified with a non-solvent with a solubility parameter of 8W12, e.g. acetone to form an asymmetric separating membrane having a microgel-contg. surface thin dense layer and an internal porous layer. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1979,JPO&Japio |
