abstract PURPOSE: To shorten the waiting time of a quenching car, and to eliminate the restriction of operating efficiency of coke oven caused by the automation, by traversing the quenching car to the estimated position of the next oven, after the discharge of coke and before the arrival of a coke guide car to the next oven. n CONSTITUTION: A quenching car is traversed to the vicinity of the next oven by a traversing signal, after the discharge of coke to a warf and before the arrival of a coke guide car to the next oven. After the completion of the traverse of the quenching car, the coke guide car is stopped at the correct position, and the quenching car is followed up to the guide car to correct the relative position. The branching of the step 2 from the step 1 means that when the guide car arrives before or during the traverse of the quenching car, and the correct positioning of the quenching car by the follow-up to the quenching car is made possible, the mode of the traverse of the quenching car is switched from the rough positioning described above to the follow-up to the coke guide car. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1979,JPO&Japio
