PURPOSE: To bond synthetic fibers to a rubber firmly, without scouring the fibers contaminated with oil, by treating the fibers with a resorcinol-formaldehyde (RF) condensate, thereafter by treating with a rubber cement. n CONSTITUTION: Preferably 0.05 - 5 wt.% of an RF condensate is preliminarily attached to synthetic fibers, e.g. nylon-6, etc.. The fibers are thermally treated prefereably at 150 - 250°C for 0.5 - 5 min and impregnated with pref. 5 - 20 wt% of a rubber cement solution. The product is heat treated, e.g. at 100 - 150°C for 1 - 3 min to remove the solbents. n EFFECT: Uniform adhesion. n USE: Production of rubberized fabrics, etc.. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1979,JPO&Japio |
