abstract | PURPOSE: To obtain 1,4-diacyloxybutene-2, an intrmediate of 1,4-butanediol, by the oxidative acyloxylation of 1,3-butadiene using a Pd catalyst containing a specific amount of an ammonium iodide derivative. n CONSTITUTION: 1,4-Diacyloxybutene is prepared by the reaction of 1,3-butadiene, carboxylic acid and molecular oxygen at pref. 60W130°C. The reaction can be carried out conveniently in an industrial scale by using a Pd metal catalyst containing an ammonium iodide derivative of formula R 1 R 2 R 3 R 4 NI (R 1-4 are H, hydrocarbon group; R 1 and R 2 or R 1-3 may together form a heterocyclic ring containing an N atom), e.g. ammonium iodide, tetramethyl ammonium iodide, tetrabutyl ammonium iodide, etc. The amount of the ammonium iodide is 0.11.5 mole, pref. 0.3W1.25 mole, per 1 gram atom of the Pd metal. n EFFECT: The activity of the catalyst can be improved. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1979,JPO&Japio |
