abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the title compound which is an intermediate of organic products such as synthetic resins, in high selectivity under mild conditions, by reacting an aliphatic conjugated diene with a hydroxy compound in the presence of an intoxic bivalent Pd compound and a sulfinic acid. n CONSTITUTION: For example, an aliphatic conjugated diene such as butadiene is reacted with a hydroxy compound such as alcohol in the presence of a bivalent Pd compound (0.0001W1.0 gram atom, pref. 0.0005W5 gram atom, as Pd per 1l of the reaction medium) and a sulfinic acid (0.1W10 moles, pref. 0.5W5 moles per 1 mole of the Pd compound) of RSO 2 X (R is hydrocarbon residue; X is H or alkali metal), to prepar the alkadienyl ether. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1979,JPO&Japio
