titleOfInvention Preparation of glycolipid ester
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain the high purity title compound, a stable and widely used glycolipid surfactant, in high yield, by the ester exchange of glycolipid methyl ester which is obtained by methanolysis and methylation of low viscosity sophorolipid. n CONSTITUTION: Sophorolipid, a mixture of the compounds of formula I(R 1 WR 4 =H, COCH 3 ) and formula II, is added to the polyhydric alcohol of formula III (R 5 =H, CH 3 ; R 6 =H, C 1W5 alkyl; m=1W6) and formula IV (R 7 =R 6 ; n=m). The obtained mixture of sophorolipid and a polyhydric alcohol is subjected to the methanolysis and the methylation with CH 3 OH in the presence of acid to give methyl[(2'-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-β-D-glucopyranosyl)oxy] alkanoate or alkenoate. Treatment of this compound with ROH (R=C 2W20 alkyl) gives the compound of formula V (R 3 =H, CH 3 ; R 4 is a C 12W16 hydrocarbon group when R 3 =H, or R 4 is a C 11W15 hydrocarbon group when R 3 =CH 3 ). n COPYRIGHT: (C)1979,JPO&Japio
