NEW MATERIAL:A di(isocyanuro) compound of formula I: [at least two of A 1 , A 2 , A 3 , and A 4 are allyl or substituted allyl groups of formula II (R 1 , R 2 , and R 3 are H or organic groups); others are 1-20C aliphatic or aromatic groups; Y is group of formula III(l is an integer 0-5; m and n are integers 2-40; Z is -0-, -S-, or -CO-), or -CH 2 CH=CHCH 2 -], having at least two allyl or substituted allyl groups. n EXAMPLE: 1,4-Bis(3,5-diallyl-isocyanuro)butane. n USE: A raw material for thermosetting resins and a modifier for thermoplastic resins, having improved heat resistance free from smoking and sublimation in melt molding. n PROCESS: Two moles of an alkali metal salt of diallylisocyanuric acid is reacted with one mole of a dihalogen compound of the formula X-Y-X (X is halogen) in a soluble solvent, e.g. DMF, at 40-170°C to give the compound of formula I. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1979,JPO&Japio |
