titleOfInvention Manufacture of polyolefin resin foam
abstract PURPOSE: To obtain a stabilized polyolefin resin foam having uniform cells of constant size even in fine fluctuation of foaming, temperature and the amount of a blowing agent, by extruding and foaming a blend of a polyolefin, amorphous silica, and a volatile organic blowing agent. n CONSTITUTION: A polyolefin base resin is kneaded with 0.1W5 wt.% based on the resin of a spherical amorphous silica of 98 wt.% SiO 2 purity having a particle size of 5W100 mμ and pH 3.5W4.5 free from pore on the surface as a foam stabilizer, and a volatile organic solvent. Propane, dichlorodifluoromethane, trichlorofluoromethane, etc. may be cited as the volatile blowing agent. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1979,JPO&Japio
