abstract PURPOSE: A carcinostatic protein polysaccharide having the following properties: the molecular weight measured by ultracentrifuge is in the range of 5,000-300,000, the IR absorption spectrum is as shown in the figure, the ratio of the NMR intensity of the band assigned to carbohydrates (2.5-6.0ppm) to that of the band assigned to protein (0.5-2.5ppm) is between 55: 45 and 95 : 5, the ratio of the NMR intensity of the band assigned to α-D-glucan to that assigned to β-D-glucan of the carbohydrates is between 50 : 50 and 10 : 90, and more than 70% of the amino acids of the protein is composed of asparagic acid, threonine, serine, glutamic acid, glycine, alanine, valine, and leucine. n COPYRIGHT: (C)1977,JPO&Japio
