abstract 1275249 Dental cement INDIANA UNIVERSITY FOUNDATION 31 July 1970 [2 Sept 1969] 37117/70 Heading C3N A dental cement comprises (A) a dental cement powder which comprises (a) sintered zinc oxide having a particle size of 2 to 10 microns; (b) not more than 0À5% magnesium oxide, by weight of the cement powder; and (c) 0À5-20% by weight of the cement powder of one or more of the following fluorine containing compounds: stannous fluoride, stannous hexafluorozirconate, indium fluorozirconate, zirconium hexafluorogermanite, zirconyl hexafluorofluorogermanite or indium hexafluorogermanate; and (B) phosphoric acid. The dental cement may further comprise 3-15% by weight of a tin oxide which assists in the sintering of the zinc oxide. The zinc oxide may be present in an amount 65-99À5% by weight of the powder. The zinc oxide is sintered at 1800-2500‹ F. and subsequently ground to the desired particle size.
