abstract (57) [Problem] To provide a method for safely and efficiently treating a battery and a battery pack having an arbitrary structure and recovering valuable metals. A current collector and an active material are separated by immersing an electrode in an acid solution and eroding a binder (5). Alternatively, the current collector and the active material are separated by heating the electrode in a reducing atmosphere to decompose the binder (11). The copper current collector and the aluminum current collector have a specific gravity of 1.9 to 2. Separation by specific gravity selection using the heavy liquid of No. 9.
