titleOfInvention Biofilm carrier, and water purification device, seaweed bed, water purification method, seaweed bed formation method, feed production method, and fertilizer production method using the biofilm carrier
abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive production fiber, high tensile elongation of the obtained fiber, good fiber processability, and excellent bio-adhesiveness. Provided are a biofilm carrier, a water purification device, and a seaweed bed that can be easily separated. SOLUTION: An oxidized fiber obtained by oxidizing an acrylic fiber and having an amount of bound oxygen of 4 to 15% by weight, or a carbonaceous fiber obtained by carbonizing the oxidized fiber and having an amount of bound oxygen of more than 2% by weight. The biofilm carrier is inexpensive, has high tensile elongation, is excellent in processability, and adheres well to living organisms such as microorganisms in water to grow and adhere. Therefore, the biofilm carrier of the present invention can be a water purification device or a seaweed bed, Organisms fixed to the biofilm carrier can be separated into feed and fertilizer.
