PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the safety of polycarbonate obtained from 9,9-bis (4-hydroxyphenyl) fluorene while maintaining favorable characteristics, that is, excellent heat resistance, without causing rash during molding. To provide a flame-retardant polycarbonate composition. SOLUTION: 5-95 mol% of a wholly aromatic dihydroxy component is 9,9-bis (4-hydroxy-3-methylphenyl) fluorene, and 95-5 mol% is a polycarbonate copolymer composed of another specific dihydroxy component. Flame-retardant polycarbonate composition comprising, in combination, at least one compound selected from the group consisting of an organic sulfonate, an organic sulfate, a phosphoric acid ester and a phosphonic acid ester in a flame retarding amount.
