(57) Abstract: An active material powder comprises: a base particle containing nickel hydroxide; a coating inner layer made of a sodium-containing cobalt compound coating the base particle; and metallic cobalt coating the coating inner layer. It is composed of composite particles with a coating outer layer made of cobalt hydroxide or cobalt monoxide. The present invention provides a non-sintered nickel electrode for an alkaline storage battery having an extremely high active material utilization rate. |
