titleOfInvention | Method for thickening aqueous emulsion |
abstract | (57) [Problem] To increase the viscosity of an aqueous emulsion to a desired viscosity without using a solvent, and not to deteriorate the physical properties (such as film water resistance) of the aqueous emulsion. SOLUTION: The dispersoid is a (co) polymer comprising at least one monomer unit selected from an ethylenically unsaturated monomer and a diene monomer, and the dispersant includes a polyvinyl alcohol polymer. A method for thickening an aqueous emulsion, comprising adding a formaldehyde condensate of an alkali metal aromatic sulfonic acid to the aqueous emulsion. |
