titleOfInvention | Method for producing fused silica refractory |
abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve an apparent porosity of about 1 to 2% and to prevent the particles on the surface of a refractory from being separated while maintaining the low thermal expansion property of a fused silica refractory. SOLUTION: A compound containing at least one element selected from the group consisting of boron and phosphorus is added to B 2 O 3 or P 2 O 5 in 100% by weight of the fused silica powder whose particle size has been adjusted. The mixture is added so as to be in a range of 0.5% by weight to 10% by weight in terms of the total amount, and a suitable molding aid is further mixed to form a molding mixture. Next, after the molding mixture is molded into a desired shape to obtain a molded body, the molded body is fired in an atmosphere containing 50% by volume or more of water vapor. As the compound, H 3 BO 3 , H 3 PO 4 , or BPO 4 is preferably used. |
