abstract | (57) [Summary]nThe present invention relates to a method for reducing the loss of heme in hemoglobin to produce stability of hemoglobin, especially recombinant hemoglobin, and to improve expression yield. Such a method is achieved by introducing mutations in the α and β subunits of hemoglobin to increase heme affinity. The invention further relates to novel mutations that reduce such heme loss. |
