titleOfInvention Device for changing the gear ratio in a gear transmission
abstract SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention starts with a device for changing the gear ratio in a gear transmission, in which the inertial mass is accelerated or decelerated during the gear ratio change. The inertial mass consists essentially of the engine element and the converter, and must be accelerated, for example, during a downshifting process and decelerated during an upshifting process. At least two different selectable strategies are provided for changing the transmission ratio. An important point of the present invention is that a first value representing the engine output torque and a second value representing the required torque for accelerating or decelerating the inertial mass are detected. The strategy described above for changing the transmission ratio is then selected depending on a comparison of the first value and the second value. In order to detect the engine output torque during the actual switching process, this is predicted from the instantaneous load signal and parameters dependent on the throttle valve angle.
