(57) Abstract: Inhibitors for matrix metalloproteases, pharmaceutical compositions containing the same and methods of using the same to treat various physiological conditions. The compounds of the present invention are those wherein R 1 is C 6 -C 12 alkyl; C 5 -C 12 alkoxy; C 5 -C 12 alkylthio; a compound of the formula R 2 O (C 2 H 4 O) a- 2 and R 2 is C 1 -C 5 alkyl, phenyl or benzyl); and a formula R 3 (CH 2 ) b —C≡C—, wherein b is 1-10; R 3 is H-, and HO-, or R 4 is O-, its time R 4 have the general formula (I) as a substituted alkynyl C 1 -C 3 alkyl, phenyl or benzyl). The alkyl, phenyl and benzyl moieties of R 1 can have at least one pharmaceutically acceptable substituent. Symbol n is 2 to 4. R 5 is phenyl; imidoyl of 4-12 carbon atoms; (3H) - benzo-1,2,3-triazine-4-one-3-yl; N- saccharinyl; (2H) - phthalazin-1-one -2-yl; 2-benzoxazolin-2-one-3-yl; 5,5-dimethyloxazolidine-2,4-dione-3-yl; and thiazolidine-2,4-dione-3-yl; when the phenyl moiety and benzo portions of R 5 may have at least one pharmaceutically-acceptable substituent group. Also included are pharmaceutically acceptable salts of this substance. |
