abstract (57) Abstract: A matrix metalloprotease inhibitor compound, a pharmaceutical composition thereof, and a method for treating a disease using the compound are provided. The compound of the present invention has the general formula (I): Wherein R 25 is a substituted phenylethyl component. Said compounds are used for the inhibition of matrix metalloproteases and thus in conditions involving MMPs, for example osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, septic arthritis, periodontal disease, corneal ulcer, proteinuria, aortic aneurysm disease, malnutrition It is useful for combating coronary artery thrombus from epidermis detachment, bullous disease, conditions leading to an inflammatory response, osteopenia mediated by MMP activity, temporomandibular joint disease, and atherosclerotic plaque rupture. The present invention also provides pharmaceutical compositions and methods for treating the aforementioned conditions.
