(57) [Summary]nA high capacity, long cycle life cathode comprising a conductive substrate for passing electricity through the electrode and an electrochemically active nickel hydroxide material in electrical contact with the conductive substrate, the electrochemical device comprising: Optically active nickel hydroxide materials comprise at least two different solid solution nickel hydroxide materials, each having a different composition. Depending on the arrangement of at least two different solid-solution nickel hydroxide materials and their relative composition, the local redox potential or porosity is altered, and any intermediate water from the nickel hydroxide material remote from the conductive network or substrate. A gradual electrode discharge is forced through the nickel oxide material to the nickel hydroxide material adjacent to the conductive network or substrate. |
