titleOfInvention Molecularly imprinted materials, methods for their production and devices using such materials
abstract (57) [Summary]nDisclosed are molecularly imprinted substrates and sensors that use the imprinted substrates to detect the presence or absence of an analyte. In one example of the present invention, first, a solvent and (a) a polymer substance capable of causing an addition reaction with nitrene, (b) a crosslinking agent, (c) a functionalized monomer, and (d) an imprinting molecule are contained. Making a solution. A silicon wafer is spin-coated with this solution. Evaporate the solvent to form a film on the silicon wafer. The film is exposed to an energy source to crosslink the substrate, and then the imprinting molecules are pulled from the film. The invention can be used to detect analytes by forming a film and then exposing it to reaction energy to form a crosslinked substrate. The imprinting molecule is withdrawn from the crosslinked substrate. The film is exposed to one or more imprinting molecules for a time sufficient for the imprinting molecules to bind to the film. The presence of this molecule is then detected. The invention further provides a molecularly imprinted polymeric material and a sensor using the molecularly imprinted polymeric material.
