(57) [Summary]n(A) a source of a Group VIII metal, (b) a bridging group having the formula:-(N) x- (P) y-N-, wherein x is 0 or 1 and y is 0 or 1. Disclosed are catalyst compositions prepared by reacting together a bidentate phosphine coordination moiety having at least two phosphorus atoms bonded by: and (c) a promoter. The Group VIII metal is preferably palladium. The promoter can be a weak or non-coordinating anion. Alternatively, it can be a boron hydrocarbyl compound or an aluminoxane. Also disclosed are novel bidentate phosphine ligands and intermediates thereof, and novel palladium complexes. This catalyst is used for the production of polyketones. |
