Injectable hydrogel composition |
abstract |
(57) [Summary]nA slowly polymerizing hydrogel is provided that is effective as a means of administering large numbers of isolated cells by injection. The gel promotes the transplantation of living tissue and becomes a three-dimensional template for new cell growth. The resulting tissue is compositionally and histologically similar to the naturally occurring tissue. This method can be used for a variety of reconstruction methods, including the general shaping of tissue transplantation as well as cell transplantation to reconstruct three-dimensional tissue defects. This polymer can build muscle and cartilage tissue that is effective in repairing defects such as reflux and incontinence. |
