| abstract |
(57) Abstract: An absorbent article includes a fastener tab (44) coupled to each side edge (110) in a first waistband portion (40). Each fastener tab has a user coupling (52) for securing the article in use. A pair of laterally spaced elastic side portions (89) of the article are operatively coupled to the first waistband portion to impart spatially discontinuous transverse elasticity to the article. The absorbent article forms a fastener panel (200) located at the first waistband portion, the panel extending longitudinally inwardly from one edge and extending transversely between user fasteners of the fastener tab. Extend in the direction. The fastener panel provides a first cycle elongation of less than approximately 1720 grams for a lateral elongation of 27%. |
