(57) [Summary]nThe present invention relates to the spider Calisoga sp. The invention relates to the purification of a family of insecticidal peptides, isolated from the group, which are characterized by a neurotoxic effect on pests and a low toxicity to mammals. The cDNA sequences for three of these peptides were identified and provided the complete coding sequence. The present invention also discloses methods for producing recombinant peptides, and methods for using these peptides as insecticides. |
