abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a water-absorbent resin which is excellent in water absorption capacity, water absorption rate, durability during swelling, has less stickiness of a swollen gel, and has excellent liquid permeability. SOLUTION: The water-soluble ethylenically unsaturated monomer (A) and the crosslinking agent (B) are added to the monomer (A) in an amount of 0.005 to 0.005. 30 mol% containing 5 mol% and 0.001 to 1 mol% of a water-soluble chain transfer agent (excluding hypophosphorous compound) (C) This is a method for producing a water-absorbent resin (D) having excellent durability, which comprises polymerizing an aqueous solution of the monomer (A) having a concentration of from about to a saturated concentration. The water-soluble chain transfer agent (C) is preferably a thiol. |
