(57) [Problem] To obtain a magnetic recording medium excellent in electromagnetic conversion characteristics and running durability. SOLUTION: A polyester polyol composed of an aliphatic dibasic acid and an aliphatic diol component having no cyclic structure is used as a binder, and 70 mol% or more of the aliphatic diol has an alkyl branched side chain having 2 or more carbon atoms. And a polyurethane having a urethane group concentration of 3.0 mmol / g to 4.0 mmol / g, which is composed of a polyester polyol using an aliphatic diol having the general formula (I), and the ferromagnetic powder mainly contains iron containing 0.5 to 20 atomic% of yttrium. A magnetic recording medium that is a ferromagnetic powder as a component. |
