abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photocatalytic film having sufficiently high photocatalytic activity (decomposition ability of organic substances), film strength and transparency by applying and drying a photocatalytic paint (without firing). It is formed on various substrates including materials. SOLUTION: (a) A dispersion liquid in which smectite in an amount of 0.1 to 5% by weight is mixed with ultrafine titanium oxide having an average primary particle diameter of 0.1 μm or less and dispersed in an organic solvent, and (b) a silica sol liquid A photocatalytic paint in which two liquids are mixed is used. TiO 2 Even if the ratio of TiO 2 to + SiO 2 (solid content of silica sol in terms of SiO 2 ) is reduced to 50 wt%, high photocatalytic activity can be obtained.
