titleOfInvention | Olefin polymerization catalyst and method for producing olefin polymer using the same |
abstract | (57) [Summary] [Problem] There is no problem of formation of a fine particle polymer, the duration of polymerization activity is long, the polymer structure such as molecular weight and molecular weight distribution can be controlled, and it is suitable for producing block copolymers. The invention also provides a very useful catalyst for olefin polymerization and a method for producing an olefin polymer. SOLUTION: An olefin polymerization catalyst comprising a combination of components A and B. Component A: an olefin polymerization catalyst component formed from a catalyst carrier comprising an ethylene-propylene-diene copolymer soluble in a solvent selected from a hydrocarbon solvent and a halogenated hydrocarbon solvent, and a Group 4 transition metal compound. Component B: organometallic compound component. And a method for producing an olefin polymer, wherein an olefin is brought into contact with the olefin polymerization catalyst in the presence of a solvent in which a carrier comprising the ethylene-propylene-diene copolymer as the component A is soluble to polymerize the olefin. |
