PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel method for producing monoethyl potassium malonate which avoids disadvantages in the prior art. Kind Code: A1 Potassium hydroxide is added to and effectively dispersed in malonic acid diethyl ester in a molar ratio of at least 1.5. [Effect] A high yield and purity of monoethyl potassium malonate can be obtained without using a large amount of alcohol in combination with high yield and purity, which has a low content of diethyl malonate and can be easily filtered. |
