Molybdenum-promoted vanadium antimony oxide based catalysts for selective ammoxidation of paraffins |
abstract |
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved process for ammoxidation of paraffin to unsaturated mononitrile and corresponding monoolefin. SOLUTION: Acrylonitrile or methacrylonitrile is synthesized by a gas phase catalytic reaction of paraffin selected from propane and isobutane by catalytic contact of molecular oxygen and ammonia with a catalyst and a reaction component in a reaction zone. A raw material composition having a molar ratio of paraffin to ammonia in the range of about 2.5 to 16, and a molar ratio of paraffin to oxygen in the range of about 1.0 to 10, wherein the catalyst comprises an element in the proportions represented by the empirical formula VSb m a a Mo b D d O x, and the catalyst is heated at a temperature of at least 780 ° C.. |
